Appalachian High School Pictures are of
"Birmingham Rocket Boys" officers Ron Witherspoon and Rick Bevel along
with the "Appalachian High School" 12th grade Science Class. This
senior class is being mentored by BRB club member Rick Bevel and has
taken on a science project of building seven "E" motor powered egg
lofting rockets which are nearly completed. During the same time Ron
and Rick were in Blount County, Alabama with the Appalachian students,
BRB President Phillip Cotton was in Jefferson County assisting the
"Homewood Middle School" rocket team with construction of their "G"
powered class rocket. Next week BRB president Ron
Witherspoon will be in Birmingham at the "Huffman Middle School" to
mentor our new 2005 "TARC" ( Team America Rocketry Challenge )
team, which will be lead by Huffman Science Teacher Mr. Jeff Willis. I
will be doing a "special events" report for the month of January on our
club's public school outreach in model rocketry which will include lots
of pictures and comments. Stay tuned to our BRB web site for this
"special event" report and others as we continue to add new BRB
episodes and write new chapters in our club's history for this exciting
and challenging new year. |
